Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Nutshell Media Pty Ltd (ABN 78 641 571 146, referred to here as Nutshell Media, we or us) handles personal information. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It applies to this website and to the review, comparison, data and information properties we operate.

What we collect

We collect only what we need for the purpose at hand:

• Enquiry details submitted through this website: your name, company, work email, website, the category you selected and your message.
• Enquiry details submitted by consumers on the properties we operate: contact details and the answers given to the qualifying questions asked at the time.
• Technical information collected automatically, such as IP address, browser type and the pages visited, used to keep the site secure and to understand which content is useful.

We do not buy, rent or scrape personal information, and we do not collect sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act.

Why we collect it

Business enquiries are used to answer you and to manage a commercial relationship if one follows. Consumer enquiries made on our properties are collected for one purpose: to introduce that person to the brand or brands they have asked to hear from. We tell people that at the point of collection and we do not use those details for anything else.

Who we disclose it to

When a person asks to be contacted about a product on one of our properties, their details are disclosed to the brand or supplier they selected, so that brand can respond. We also use service providers, such as hosting, email and analytics suppliers, who handle information on our behalf under contract. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store data outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses only the cookies and storage needed to serve the pages and to measure traffic in aggregate. You can block cookies in your browser and the site will still work. Our properties may use analytics and attribution cookies, which are disclosed on those sites.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as they are needed for the purpose they were collected for, and for any period the law requires us to keep records. After that they are deleted or de-identified.

Security

Personal information is held on access controlled systems, transmitted over encrypted connections and available only to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected individuals and the regulator if a breach is likely to cause serious harm.

Access, correction and unsubscribing

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, contact us first at the address above and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, you can refer the complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We update this policy when our practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
